形态特征 Morphological Characteristics
鹧鸪，体长约30厘米。嘴短，雄者黑色，雌鸟上嘴肉色，下嘴肉黄色。虹膜褐色。额和头侧几至颈项均棕色，眉纹黑色；颊部白色，下缘有黑纹；颏和喉均白色。上背黑，满布椭圆形白斑，羽端缀以栗色；下背至中央尾羽也黑，杂以波状狭纹，外侧尾羽端纯黑；肩部栗色；覆羽暗褐，均有白点；飞羽暗褐，具白色横斑，最内侧飞羽与肩羽同。胸、上腹与上胁均黑色而密缀显著的眼状白斑，至下胁则转为白羽而杂以黑斑；下腹棕白。尾下覆羽棕色。脚短，橙黄色以至红褐色。雌鸟黑色较纯而沾褐色；白斑与纹均带棕色；下体变为棕白，杂以黑色横斑。
The partridge has a body length of about 30 centimeters. It has a short beak, with the male having a black upper beak and the female having a fleshy upper beak and a yellow lower beak. The iris is brown. The forehead, sides of the head, and neck are all brown, with black eyebrow stripes. The cheeks are white with black stripes along the lower edge. The chin and throat are both white. The upper back is black with oval white spots, and the feather tips are adorned with chestnut color. The lower back to the central tail feathers are also black, mixed with wavy narrow stripes, and the outer tail feathers are pure black at the tips. The shoulders are chestnut-colored, and the covert feathers are dark brown with white spots. The flight feathers are dark brown with white bars, and the innermost flight feathers are the same color as the shoulder feathers. The chest, upper abdomen, and upper flanks are all black with prominent eye-shaped white spots, turning into white feathers with black spots on the lower flanks, and the lower abdomen is brownish-white. The undertail coverts are brown. The legs are short and orange-yellow to reddish-brown in color. The female is purer black with a tinge of brown, and the white spots and stripes are both tinged with brown. The lower body becomes brownish-white, mixed with black horizontal stripes.
